You probably have sort by reponse time selected! When someone replies to your post it goes to the top of the
forum. If noone replies it will gradually go down the list.

I think you'll also find that if the person in control doesn't like what you've got to say , your post will be deleted. It doesn't require swearing - just an opinion not shared by "big brother". I imagine this post won't last long lol.

I've been a big critic of censorship on this
forum and I think you're being a little unfair. I don't believe people have been censored _simply_ for voicing a different opinion.
There certainly was too much censorship here six months and more ago but recently a much more sensible and more "hands off" policy seems to have been adopted and the
forum has benefited from that. Let us hope it continues because without some "argy bargy" from time-to-time this would be a sterile and boring place. And, in reality, one cannot expect the regulars on here to agree _all_ the time - just like any other group conflict is inevitable sometimes but will tend to self regulate.

Hi Guys,
Id like to remind you to have a look at the
terms of use - . (see link on RHS of
forum index - just below the
forum search options.) Look at "Communication Facilities".
If you feel a post has been unfairly removed and it was not in breach of those
terms of use let us know.

There are two little radio buttons at the top of the list. One selectes the order of the post to be in time posted order and the other selects the post in order of last added post order - meaning an active post is brought to the top. If your post isn't active with comment it will go towards the bottom.
Being a memeber or non member plays no part in that skip. Just that members have more fun;-)

I will have to look behind me if I hear you are about meeting with members will I Mike? :-0
I know I would have to try hard sell with you about the enhancemnt of the site for members but after all, I have never seen you round apart from the
Forum pages. Have met lots of members socially, even the distance I am from town.

I'll vouch for non member Mike John. We have meet twice socially outside of these pages and while he looks a bit dodgy for a non member he comes over as ok and a bloody good bloke. Rest assured my meeting with non members outside of these pages in no way condones non
membership....I like non members, I was one myself once :)

Good on you Ray, I think the system revolves round everyone beeing able to reference everyone else here. I remember him emailing me last year asking my parentage. He was actually mistaking me for another John apparently. I can't let him forget that one.

Just a correction on that John: my e-mail to you was not abusive it was enquiring, in a courteous manner, if you had threatened legal action against the owners of this site and I subsequently apologised to you in a further e-mail for confusing you with another John on this
forum who should have been asked that question – but never was.
I can send copies of the e-mails if you wish.

Mike, I make the comment again. You sent the enquiring email to the wrong person. Yes courteous, but asking if I had threatened legal action. Bearing in mind I had been in Queensland on the road I must say I was puzzled. No need to take offence at what was said, I get confused at times too. LOL

No offence taken John, I just wanted to correct your statement that I questioned your parentage - which suggests abusive language. As I stated, above, I did indeed send the e-mail to the wrong John.

Most enlightening I must say...I am another just testing the waters so to speak and if I found that there was any type of Big Brother type maouvreing going on behind the scenes here then I'd just have to walk away. Ok the laws of common decency should preclude the use of obscene language but that is not censorship. Censoring peoples thoughts or remarks on a product or service is another kettle of fish entirely. If I tender a snyde gybe against a product or service then the recipient of such should have the right of reply to defend his/her product or service.
It's good and healthy, it tends to keep people honest & believe it or not prevents to a degree legal action being taken against the owners of the site. I was only recently made aware that if someone made false or missleading statements re a product or service that they were selling via paid advertising on a site such as this that if the owners of the site supported those claims by editing or censoring remarks that they the site owners could also be held responsible. Now I have not seen that happen here, I've seen some very strong, acrimonious and healthy debate regarding some products & serivces that are advertisers and the only censorship has been to remove the expletives...
Now one
forum of which I am a member will not tolerate any negative remarks made about any of it's advertisers, posts are edited or deleted if the moderator feels that they may loose advertisng $$$ needless to say I won't be renewing my subscription and I will when it is up be making more people aware of these tactics...
It never ceases to amaze me the level some busnesses will stoop to to score an extra few $$$, Take for example my recent experience with an Internet holiday retailer, The have advertised a Campervan Hire holiday for 7 days including airfares ex
Sydney for $839... Swmbo says "That sounds cheaper than towing the van all that way - Make a booking Basil" "Oh yes my little dream pot" I respond "Do you want me to book your mother as well" "Don't be stupid Basil she has seen Ayres Rock" Ok so I try to make a booking and get a response back telling me that it is in fact $957... Why? Because the price is ex
Sydney, yes I say, "I will be travelling from
Sydney, Sybil & I both have fee rail passes & wont be flying from Canberra".... "Oh that dosen't matter says the university graduate in Travel ripp offs, You have to be a
Sydney Resident to get the $839 deal" Ok I say... "I'm off to discuss this with the office of Fair Trading, have a nice day"
Have a nice day all, You've all done very
well....

Paranoia I say!
Manipulation?
I have never seen "manipulation" by the
forum administrators....Ever.
What I have seen is Posts deleted, if the contents are deemed to contravene the terms and conditions associated with it's use. In this world of litigation, no one can blame the owners from protecting their interests and those of others who may be "insulted" from time to time.
So, do away with the paranoia that you may be "manipulated", it just doesn't happen.
Geez, I have probably been guilty of posting, or replying to some topic that was subsequently deleted. Big deal, life goes on.
Skip,
I hope you have been satisfied that no manipulation has occured and that you get all the benefits from this
forum that you can. But mate, don't start off with threats that you are not going to become a member if.........because we don't really give a bugger about that.
Have a good day.

Thanks for the advice I just used it and it works I will now feel a lot more comfortable using this site.
You should put how to use the spell check on as separate instruction on its own
Forum so more people can use it you would be surprised how many people limit there expression because the have difficulty spelling.
Your advice may help many people.
Thanks

This website is a commercial operation set up by the owners for the purpose of making money (and good luck to them - I'll take a guess it currently has a value of a million or more - RSVP sold for $37m, Cricky sold for $1m+ I think) - it is not a religious order established by someone out of the goodness of their heart with the altruistic intention of helping those less fortunate. Keep it in perspective.
