We're leaving on thurs to drive from
Toowoomba to Innaminka and parts south. We want to travel via
Windorah and then down the Planet Arrabury road with a patrol ute and camper ttrailer. Has anyone done this road recently. My copilot gps system shows the road broken, incomplete?, is this right or is this just a glitch? Any info would be appreciated.
Many thanks, Geoff

Geoff,
I wouldn't rely on the CoPilot reference out there. You may like to get an updated map before you head off.
Natmap Raster shows an
intersection about 4 K north of Arrabury where the Planet Arrabury road links up with the Cordillo Road. The Cordillo Road heads in a south westerly direction directly into
Innamincka.

Also about 12 K out on the Cordillo Road, there is another
junction.
Straight on (west) will take you to
Cordillo Downs.
Left turn at
the junction will put you on the Cordillo Road to
Innamincka.

13gef13,
Came up from
Innamincka about 5 weeks ago.
Cordillo downs road was closed but is now open. You will be fine up there with an off road trailer.
As for your GPS not showing a track we have the Magellan Explorist XL and it does not show a track north of
the Dig tree & Adventure way
intersection for quite some way towards Arrabury but there is definitally one there. As a previous post states get a good Map, we had the Great Desert Tracks - South East Sheet by "Hema", and it shows all the tracks in the area.
If you are looking at travelling the road from near Arrabury through past
Cordillo Downs Station & up past
Cadelga Outstation ruins you would need to check this track out with the Rangers from
Innamincka as it had been closed for several months and we where told it could be for a long time yet
Good Luck

I have travelled down from Haddon's Corner down to
the dig tree and Innaminka but it was some years ago now. About 3 or 4
It was a pleasant drive without any dramas and the road was fine then

I know, just joking, but the next thing is all blokes wanting to go to some obscure destination, orf the beeten track, will simply plug the co-ordinates into the 'puter, fuel up the turbo prop hovercraft then sit there sipping on a fine chardonay whilst the journey is completed.
But more seriously, Why dont you do what I do, take the chance and make the most of your adventure. If you get slowed down, even bogged, make the most of it.
Otherwise, boring!
Happy trips furph.
ps. Make sure you have a beer at the renovated Western Star in
Windorah.
cheers furph

Geoff was on Arrabury rd from
Windorah last July just after rain - nice drive with varied landscapes but got a bit complacent with this one.

Travelled from Innaminla to
Birdsville via Arrabury/ Cordillo road at
easter.
The section from Innaminka to Arrabury is in perfect condition.
You could nearly drive a limo on there ATM except for the odd gully & large rock on the road.
