Hi All,

I am running Copilot Live 5 software on a PDA. it is great and I rely on it all the time.

I notice that Copilot Live 6 is available.

Does anyone currently use Version 6, and if so, is it worth upgrading. Upgrade cost about $200.

All advice greatly appreciated

Thanks

I would wait if I were you... CoPilot 6 was released last year and Copilot 7 is due out any time now according to the local CoPilot support and it will have updated maps.

CoPilot 7 is already released overseas so the only thing holding it up here are the Navteq map updates and POI updates.

It doesn't make sense to fork out for an upgrade now and then another one in a month or two.

Also $200 for the upgrade seems a little steep since the whole package is $249 at Organiser World in Melbourne.

Tony,

I purchased CoPilot Live 6 after reading a review. (sorry can't find the source at present)
It gave CoPilot 6 a rating of 7.5 out of 10 which was higher than Destinator 6, Navigator 6, or Route66.
I don't know about the imminent release of a new version for the PDA's but a call to the Australian distributor should resolve that. CoPilot 10 for Laptops has just been released.

Sorry I can't compare it to version 5, but the review did and the improvements were noticable.

Have a look at GPSOZ
which gives you an idea of version 6 features. This is where I purchased my copy.

The upgrade cost is $195 and I don't think you would be disappointed mate.

Go to Site Link

for some comments on CP6.

I have it and have found some very interesting problems with it as have other people. A trip from Canberra to Moruya done mostly on dirt tracks and not by a highway which would have been quicker and safer - but not as much fun.

Route66 which costs the same as the upgrade to CP6 seems to handle the NAVTEQ maps better (based on comments in above).

I used it a lot on a recent trip to Alice Springs and QLD and it got me to places I wanted to go, not sure if the best routes or not .I don't trust it any way and always verify with the good old paper maps as I have lost a bit of confidence in its ability to pick a good route.

Hopefully a CP7 will be better, but at $200 for the upgrade I would consider route66
