Hello Forum
I am about to leave on trip and would appreciate any advice as to the condition of the road from Hamilton Homestead to Dalhousie and then from Mt Dare to Alice Springs via the Old Andado Track. I will be towing an off-road trailer. Thanking you in anticipation.

Maj,
I did it a couple of weeks ago. It is all fine. Just a gravel /sand road really. No traps. Loose rocks and corrugations 'tween Dalhousie and Mt Dare. A bit of deep dust north of Andado.
I enjoyed the journey. In Oodnadatta fuel is more expensive at the Pink Road house than the store.
Anything specific you need to know?

G'day Major,
Came down there last year and the Finke river section could be a nightmare if wet. there are a lot of large bog holes but they are negotiable when dry, just take it easy. Be about 10k of slow stuff.
I will not go that way next time but will go via New crown through to Old Andado, road north is fine from the homestead.
Would ask at Mt Dare about conditions further north.
Ave a good 1

Hi
Went along that track a week or so ago. Dirt road/ track in good nick (well I thought so anyway). Just the normal stuff, a few rocks etc. Would check at Mt Dare as conditions change fast sometimes. Molly's was a good place to stop, there was no one else there the night we were there.

Thanks for the information fellas. It pays to check before you go and it seems I should have a pretty good run, particularly after the fresh info of last week. I appreciate the information and your time replying. The Major
