OK people I have finally taken the plunge and bought a Cruiser. I know I took my time but all good things come to those who wait.
I had some incredible assistance from Al and Mrs Al, so much assistance that I bought it sight unseen just relying on the opinion of Al (and maybe a little from Lyn).
It is now destined to be transformed even further by Al into a Dual Cab, with a couple of other mods planned for the interior.

For the full run down check my profile out.

Thanks again to Al and Lyn it wouldn't have happened without your assistance. I now look forward to picking it up in a couple of months LOL

Cheers Kev

You won't be disappointed with the conversion. I've seen Al's work first hand and you'd swear it came from the factory that way.

Jimbo,

Lyn sent me a few pics and I agree they are factory looking.

Agree!!! I would find it extremely difficult to ever go back to a normal wagon now that I've got a dual cab with lockable box. It is just so versatile and so much more roomy.

And thats a single cab with lockable box :-))) ........no kids.....no in-laws.....just plenty of space!!! In 10-15years you'll know what I mean

One of the toys (the Triton) will be sold very soon. I am thinking of offloading the X Trail and getting a diesel Jerrycan instead as well LOL

Kev,

You just missed out on a good diesel Jerrycan. Member Greg S just traded his for a 3lt c/rail Patrol the other day. It was so good I was even thinking about asking a price so as to exchange the wifes older Jackeroo. Turned out he traded it for a pretty good price I think. They do come up cheap though, from time to time.

Cheers, Trevor.

Trevor,

I need to offload the Triton first and get it to a decent tourer stage first.
Then the X Trail will be gone as well, even though there is nothing wrong with it but SWMBO wants more seats for bums, wish she told me that 3 years ago LOL

I hear that the missing flag is back in the country as well LOL

Get the missus a GXL Prado. You will not be dissapointed. 8 seats and drives like a dream. New TD goes near 1,800 on a $200 fill.

I may even be able to afford a new one secondhand by the time I get around to buying her a new one.
I think money may be a bit tight in the not to distant future, so I have to get the 100 Series sorted first LOL

Hi Laura

wasn't Al, he hasn't done any spruiking in NSW though, there are a couple of his conversions up there. A guy in Sydney has a converted GU and a guy in Griffith just bought an 03 LC off Al.

good luck with the studies by the way...perhaps there's a short course you could do as a taster to see if you'd really like to do it. Hoping to go back to Uni next year to do my Grad. Dip Ed. did my degree 20 years ago...lol..I've had a rather long gap year!...

I have 4 assignments and 1 exam to do by the 17th of October and then only 2 units to do next term and I'm qualified finally. 3.5 years of external study via correspondence really suck to keep your motivation.

It took a while but now I'll have an even better touring vehicle. The Triton was good but a converted cruiser I think will be that much better especially with live front end.

In reply to your question on another thread
I am getting an Alloy tray with Trundle drawer.

The main reason for Alloy is the weight factor and they look better LOL
