My wife and our 2 girls (& & 10) are travelling to Broome in Late August early Sept from Vic. After two months of outback travel we will need a break by the pool We are tossing up between the Cable beach Caravan Park or Palm Cove Caravan Park. Both sound good and similiar. From recent travellers to the area which if either is better. I know both will be busy just too hard to make the right choice.

Cheers

They are pretty booked out at that time of the year. We stay at the Broome Caravan Park.

Suggest you check if there any vacancies at either before getting too excited about choice - you may not have any!

Graeme,

I live in Broome and would go for Cable beach caravan park, great spot, just make sure you book one of the older spots towards the front of the park, the newer spots at the back don't have much shade.

Good luck,

Josh

WE stayed at a beachfront site at Roebuck Bay C/park. Not the
flashest in town but the view is magnificent with swimming at your
front door. Facilities Ok. Site was powered & cost a few bucks extra. Ask for beachfront...be quick.....oldbaz.

We stayed at cable beach pc park in September 2006 and it was great - good staff, great pool and onsite oven Pizzas on Thursday nights and good bbq next to pool. New toilet blocks were nearing completion when we were there. It was $25 per night then and I think 7th free.

Stayed at the Cable Beach C/Van Pk in 06. Bigggggggg van park. Excellent facilities, plenty of shade, friendly staff and in close walking distance to the beach etc. One thing though if you are tenting it the sand is rock hard and we had to water jet pegs into the ground. Van owners had similar problems pegging their annexes. Some used a masonary bit on the end of their cordless drills to bore holes for their pegs.

Thanks for all the replies, I think our mind has been made up we're staying at Cable Beach c/Park for a bit of R'n'R. The kids will love the pool and the relax. See some of you on the road, pearl white TD prado, towing a O/B Jayco eagle.

Bundy, we ended up booking Cable Beach caravan Park for a week from the 27/8. No problems with booking. $47 per night I didn't think was too bad. We will have been on the roadsince 30/06 with a lot of bush camping so 1 week by the pool is okay I think. I've still gotta get the family home to Vic which may be hard work if they like Broome so much.

Enjoy and we'll be there.

Hi all,
we expect to be in Broome sometime in July, but knowing when, we cant book, so looks like we won't get in.
Does anyone know of any camping areas within 20-30ks, that would be likely to have a space?
cheers
