I had mine made by an EO person who used to install cameras in race cars and now has a metal fabrication place in NW Sydney . It took him a lot of time and he did not charge me nearly enough for the fantastic job he did . I do not think he is not keen to do any more .

He designed a bracket that utilised the two mounting bolts of the front passenger seat and had an arm going down and attaching to the side of transmission tunnel . My passenger seat is permanently as far back as it will go , but that's not a problem for me .

I think it is a matter of designing what you want and having it made or buying one of the mounts sold by GPSoz .

Regards ,

Willie

I have a very good one that I dont use any more. Its a top tray off a Ram Mount POD III It fits any laptop from 12" up as it is sprung and slides to correct width. It has four adjustable clamps for any thickness lappy.

Cost over $100 with Pod III will sell it for $50 Only been used twice and I decided to use an 8" screen instead.

You can see the Ram Mount stuff here
www.ja-gps.com.au

and a pic of the POD III and the top tray is attached

And I've got the pod parts legs, mounting brackets (feet) and top bracket if you want those. May have to be bent to suit your vehicle. Had a custom job made (see my profile page there are a few photo's there).

Cheers. Mick

The Ram Mount is also available from GPSOZ.

(scroll down to the bottom)

I have found them a very good company to deal with.

One of them is easy to source on Ebay.com
Not Ebay.com.au!!!

Try the USA version, Ebay.com and you'll hit by about 200 items on 'lap top mount'...

Ah, the technology...

There is one on Ebay.com.au though, search 'laptop mount'
and for $150 it's delivered to your door.

If you want a waterproof, shockproof, dustproof, 3ft drop-proof laptop, look (again on ebay) for a 'opentec' laptop...

These are ex Australian Army. I've got one myself, running ozexplorer in the Unimog. Probably not fast enough for internet, but for navigation purposes it's great.

Hi johnnymc,
I recently bought one from a Sydney based agent for Mobile Desk Solutions. You can search here for info although beware that the original Co. in Vic has now closed. If you are interested I can find my invoice and give you the name. They are one of the best on the market (imho) but not cheap (about $500) but no holes drilled and very sturdy.
