Hi Dave & Shelley,
"They were very helpful and the showers were still going for $5.00 (they were cold but come on, I could smell myslef!!!!)".
Know how you felt however one of the vehicles that we were with in 2005 killed all four shockies between
well 32 & 33, to cut a long story short our daughter had just started work at Telfa so we organised for the shockies to be flown into Telfa on the next day (a Friday) and hubby and I went over to Telfa to pick them up.... Quick way to get spares out on the Canning, we had lunch with our daughter and I had the best shower (hot) that I can remember. Got back to
well 33 and all the others in our group had made casseroles for dinner which was lovely as I had just told hubby that we would be eating baked beans on toast that night. May I say it had been teaming with rain that day at
well 33 but Telfa was beautiful, when we headed back the thought ran through our minds to turn around and head for the sun LOL.
Just a foot note to that story, the others had arranged with the "mechanic" to help change the shockies next morning (Sat) then we were going to all head off the Canning along the Kidson as the CSR was washed out up further, (there was stories of about 15 vehicles bogged up there) Sat morning came and no mechanic (strange that) so the guys used the square of concrete at the back of Kunuwaritji to put the vehicle on and change all the shockies, took them a couple of hours, they were then charged $100 for the use of the piece of concrete.
That's a very condensed story of our couple of days camped at
well 33. No complaints from us though the two days could have and should have been 5+ days, just lucky.
Cheers
D
