Hey,

Well I just got back from a 5.5k trip to Broome today and unfortunately have to flight out to Canberra and Sydney for work on Sunday.

I have been over to the east coast quite a few time but because it is always for work , I have never had time to really look around.

This time however, I will be in Canberra over the weekend and would like to know where I can go an see some snow.

Being that I'm from WA this would be a new thing for me to do so if anyone has some simple places to get to (in a hire car, not mine) it would be appreciated.

I only have Saturday to have a look around so it will need to be fairly limited on the k's to get there.

Hi mate,
Head down to Cooma, then on to Jindabyne.
From there it is a short run up to Thredbo.
Cheers,

Corin Forrest may have some snow, and it's closer.

Go south down the Tuggeranong Parkway and follow the signs (turn right).

2 hours to Jindabyne via cooma.
45 minutes to perisher or thredbo. Take your pick. Personally I would take perisher over thredbo for sightseeing.
You must get chains and Pay for National park entry fee also, quite expensive these days too.

If you have a day to spare, forget the car and take a bus down to the snow. You can get to the top via the Ski Tube.

There are day bus trips from Canberra up to the snowies.

Near Canberra there is probably snow in the gullies and on the side of the road in the Brindabellas along Mt Franklin road from Picadilly Circus.
