We have a budget of $10,000 to spend on an off road camper trailer. And researching this is quite a task. We have 2 adults and 2 kids aged 6 and 9, and plan to do a 10 week trip up the centre Broome etc.

Anyway we are keen on Tambo Campers ( the Cooper ) and would really appreciate some feedback on someone that owns one or even if anyone out there has another brand they swear by and why.

thanks guys James

Spam warning here! The All Terrain turned out to be an ideal camper trailer for us, (2 adults 2 kids). But we are selling it at the moment (and no we're not buying a different one!).

I thought it may be of interest to you since it originally cost us over $16,000 just over a year ago, and that was with a discount because we ordered it at the Sydney camping show.

Click here to see my ebay ad.

I have also advertised it on exploreoz, but haven't updated that to reflect the current price.

Otherwise we would have gone for the "complete campsite", but alas they are outside your specified budget.

Our ideal camper was quick to set up, sturdy build and very insect proof - meaning no gaps where canvas joins the trailer etc. The All Terrain prooved to be everything we were looking for.

We did also have an Adventure Camper prior to the All Terrain, the Adventure was a great design but not that good for us (you know all those little annoyances can add up). So price isn't necessarily an indicator of suitability either as the Adventure was about twice the cost of the All Terrain.

James,

check out these previous threads or do a search of the forum for "Tambo+campers". Great unit.

Cheers. Mick

Hi imjames

We have a Cooper Tambo camper trailer, for the past 2 years, and have travelled with it on many different types of roads ( last trip included the plenty Hway and from Alice to King Canyon). we are extremely happy with it, it is easy to set up, very roomy and easy to pack up.
I do recommend it, but do your homework as this is not the only camper on the market.
Cheers and good luck

James, We bought a Tambo Cooper 4 years ago and have done 4 long trips to Cape York (10-12 weeks each) and various other trips including Vic High Country. All in all, a great camper. Great after sales service aswell. Side lift is a must. I give all my things a hard time and this handles it all, no probs. I did research for about a year and am stoked that I picked a Tambo.

Cheers

Phill

Another extremely happy Tambo Cooper owner here.Just make sure you get the side lift option(what ever camper you choose), it makes it just so much easier to load and unload the trailer.
We got the following options- Treg hitch, full awning front and walls, front tool box and side lift.I have added-pole carrier, stone deflector, spare wheel mount, high lift jack mount, tail gate kitchen, wired up 6 12v outlets, slide out pantry/food box, trailer divider and extended the draw bar.Could have got some of these from the factory but wanted them"my way".
Awsome camper, still believe they are the best value camper on the market for a soft floor job.

yet another happy Tambo Cooper owner here...

Must mention, when we know we will have regular setup/pulldowns, we leave the spare bedroom at home... For extended stays, the extra room is a godsend with kids...

One tip, get the bigger cover and use an inner-spring mattress...
