If you are looking for places to stay on the way through, I can thoroughly recommend stopping at two fantastic farms - both have plenty of space and good facilities and you won't be jammed in like at the van parks. Nardoo (38kms north of Cunnamulla) and Evening Star at Charleville (7kms out of town heading north west).Ilfracombe (just out of Longreach) is another great spot - an easy commute into Longreach. In between Charleville and Longreach try Blackall - great free camp (with hot showers) by the river and fantastic pool fed by warm artesian water.Tambo is another good spot.

Have fun Willie,
There are some wonderful Quartz reefs around Mt Pool that you should look at. I do want a % of what you find for the tip.
