Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the road condition is between
Menindee and
Wentworth via Pooncarrie. I was wondering if it is gravel or tar?
Many thanks for your help in advance.
Gazal.

Gazal,
It's bitumen to Poocarrie and then a
well maintained dirt road from Pooncarrie to
Menindee.
Cheers. Mick

No worries Bruce. I'll be up there in two weeks myself. I've heard a rumour that they are going to let some
water go out of
Menindee Lakes into the lower reaches of the Darling. I can only hope it's true. Enjoy.

Travelled the road last Thursday and it was fine, a few corrogations. Not that it is a long run but the
general store at
Pooncarie was closed and has no fuel..

The road up the west side of the river is more interesting than the east.
It is a bit longer but there is heaps to see, if time is not a problem.
It is also less travelled and generally less corrigated. Takes yo up through Kinchega NP
