Hi All,

I received a member message yesterday and realised that my state tag was wrong. Have had it fixed. SkI'er NSW is now QLD.

In January 08 we left the northern rivers to sneak across the border and now live at coastal Bargara.Bargara is still a village suburb of Bundy. This Coral Coast is a brilliant, friendly part of the country and your buck buys alot more house around here than down south and the winters... what winter ?

I cheered and cried for the Brisbane Broncos last week... so I think I am well on the way to being a maroon. Toot or wave if you see the EO wheel cover round Bundy.

Regards

Oi ! Tone it down a bit.
Let the rest of the country keep themselves warm by bashing Qld. As long as they keep coming here for holidays :))
As for house prices, well obviously your local real estate guys aren't Mexicans, convinced that anyone from elsewhere has just sold their own house for a squillion $$ and is prepared to make them rich.
It's a great place to live. Just don't mention the politics...the roads...or the hospitals..or the public schools. :)))))

Did you get a temporary spending permit or a permanent visa (later still able to be revoked cause you were a cocky at one stage LOL!!)? So long as you don't make it sound so inviting, you may actually be able to enjoy the serenity of that region for some time to come, Rules Beach is worth a look seems you are so close (IMO).

Enjoy being a Cane Toad territorian.

Thanks Trevor R for the welcome.

Unsure of status, a ( POM 35 years ago) Married to a Queenslander in Sydney.Bargara was her happy homecoming. BUT BUT I have copies of early maps that show all of east coast to be named New South Wales so maybe I am still home too.

Hadn't heard of Rules Bech and Google Earth is helping to keep the secret, a secret, with its really poor resolution imaging.

We are heading up to Glady in Nov. to do some turtle nesting/laying research (and fishing) on a "closed" island in the Bunker Group. Suppose we will have to live on coral trout and reds for two weks again.

May leave the highway to have a look at your bit of paradise on the way back south.

Regards

Mon Repos for turtles on your doorstep, but I can understand your alterior motives for heading to Bunker Grp. I dived North West, Heron and a few other inshore Islands off Gladstone as this is where I grew up....(No that's not right, I still haven't grown up)..as this is where I spent my education years...(No that's not right, I am still not educated)..bugger it all, I spent 15 yrs there (LOL!!). Couple of EO folk up that way so keep your eyes peeled. Down in the big smoke of Bris Vegas now though.

Enjoy the whole region.
Trevor.
