Just got home - Just!

Well we just got home this arvo after having to cut out Flinders Ranges trip short by a day. Reason was that somewhere along the Artimore track we did some damage to the front RH drive shaft. it still drives OK, and without realising it was damaged, it worked OK in 4WD on many occasions. I actually noticed it after having to crawl under the car to replace a nut that had come off the exhaust spring hanger. Grease everywhere, and it's really floppy at the diff end. Could it be a bearing I wonder? Anyone had this same problem?

So the casualties of the trip are as follows;

- damaged front drive shaft, extent to be determined
- smashed "vintage" Primus lantern glass (25+ years old, cracked for at least the last 15 years)
- Busted exhaust after the muffler (previous bodgy repair??)
- Ding in the RH quarter panel because the new you beaut jerry can holder swung around and clouted the panel

To cap all this off, on the way home we dropped in to see Willem and have a cuppa (because we left home late Saturday so didn't have time then), and he wasn't home.

Ah, the joys of travelling.
