Hi,
It looks as if I'll be taking a trip down to
merimbula (very south nsw) to see the outlaws sometime this year. coming from
brisbane i'll be going through the majority of nsw and am looking for some detours along the way. can anyone recommend some good books / websites, etc covering 4wd and touring tracks inside nsw/act?
cheers,
KG

Boing Billy have some good books - I have "
Treks close to Sydney" (
Dingo Dell & Limeburners would be my choice passing through the Blue Mnts) & "Tracks of the High country" (maybe Broken Cart/
Long Plain to
Kiandra - after winter). 4WD books
A Trek that may also be on your way to
Merimbula is to
Bendethera Valley - near Moruya in the Deua NP.
Try some of the 4WD Club sites - some have Trek notes - look here
links to NSW Clubs

Boiling Billy used to have a book on 4WD trips in Southern NSW, but it now seems to be out of print. You might find an old copy in a bookshop somewhere.
Discover Aust by 4WD has a good description of a trip through Duea NP and Wadbilliga NP. We did parts of it - very enjoyable. By linking various tracks, you could go from Nowra to Cobargo without striking a town in between (assuming you have enough fuel!).
For other suggestions, try 4x4 Aust Nissan treksand Overlander. And of course see the trek notes on this site.
