Howdy all,
I was just wondering if anybody else has recently tried to get their hands on an OzTent RV-5? I have been told by several outlets that there are just NONE available! Possibly not 'till March!
Will give my first-born son for one if anyone knows where I may source one!!!
Cheers,
Rob.

Huh???
You gotta be kidding me!!
They were the ones yesterday that said they wouldn't have any 'till March! The guy there,
Morgan, said they'd just recently had the OzTent head from
Sydney and he gave them the news...
Weird!

Nah, you don't get out of it that easily!
He'll be in the mail as soon as he's born. I forgot to mention, I don't actually have any kids yet (that I know of!)... ....but the phone could ring anytime!!!

Folks,
All OzTents are made in China and imported by the OzTent "Manufacturer".
This doesn't make them of any less quality as they would be built to specifications, but the response time for restocking is certainly an issue.

Totally!
I kow it means more maintenance for websites, but at the moment, I could go to any of these camping store websites, place an order for a whole bunch of gear, pay for it (irreversable) and then find-out a few days later that they're out of stock for another month and a half.
That's not cool.

I already have a ACCC complaint going against a two major companies...
i also believe that they are failing in some of the subsections of warranty..... they build an expectation of purchase and it is not honored, so they are failing to warrant thier product

Its not only availability on websites thats a problem . Quite a few times i have visited a website advertising a price for a holiday package and when you ring up they say oh no that price on the web is not right . It ends up dearer than what it says on the web . Rediculous .

Well guess what! last night I found one!
It was the floor model in the
BCF at Keperra.
The store was dead - and I mean DEAD! I was the only punter in the palce. I saw the one on display and stood and walked around it like a mutt for about 15 minutes. After 3 staff walked past me without me being acknowledged I thought I'd take it on myself to ask them for service.
I approached a male staff member (three of them were standing around chatting), only to be confronted with "Hey champ, how ya goin? Do you need any help?". After telling hiim that I had been standing over in the tent section for 15-20 minutes, he said "Sorry 'bout that mate, we've been a little busy". I asked him "You sure about that? The place is empty!".
He said "Look Champ, can I help you with anything here or not?"
I replied, "Apparently not, you appear to be too busy!" and walked.
Seriously, that tent is possibly the only one left in captivity in
Brisbane, if not all of S/E Qld. But I would rather wait a few weeks or a month than be treated/sold to like that.
Anyone else is welcome to it!!!

it's a shame they dont really with stand australian conditions very good, we have been on the road since dec 2007 and have used our then new one probable 10months over that time and have to say that while we love the idea of the oztent and they work great the fabric dosent withstand the qld sun, you will need to have it completely covered if you intend to spend any amount of time there, ours has faded and the fabric rotted, we fixed the leaks with water proofing and a good quality tarp. pretty disapointed
