Could anyone supply me with a ' mud map' description from Coxs River Road to Black Range Road (and then
Jenolan Caves Road)- via the Six Foot track...??
Or any lead to a Trek note of this track..??
Thanks

Hi, we covered this pretty
well a couple of years ago so there should be an archive somewhere.
As you leave the river you go back up murdering gully to the Lemon Tree cattle yards at the original Kiangatha
homestead site (Burnt down in the 1800's and no foundations visable). You veer left (westish) at the yards and follow the 6"
track markers up the
hill and over Min Min saddle.
After about 4-5km you will cross Alum Ck and then Little River 3 times in about 1km. From here you start to climb up towards Black range and take a left turn a few k's along continuing to climb (6'
track markers are still followed). This is now Black Range.
Just follow it along untill you hit a T
intersection in the Pine forest. Here you turn left (there is an
old quarry on your left) Just follow the main road for about 1km untill you hit
Jenolan Caves Rd then turn left and follow untill you get to
the caves.
WARNING if you start down the winding section towards
the caves after 2pm beware there are coaches comming the other way narrow rd with 1000ft drop offs and only a chain wire fence along most of it.
By the way the fence posts are the old tram sleepers from the
Sydney harbour bridge (bet you didn't know that)
I hope that is a good enough mud map.
Cheers
Dave
