Swimbo (Rosie) and I have a few days spare in
Darwin after 2 days Barra Fishing on the
Daly river and a 4x4 Day trip into
Litchfield NP, Will be back in
Darwin Sat night and plan to relax Sun with Mindil Beach Markets and Dinner to finish off the weekend so I have Mon 25 May and Tues free before flying home to
Sydney Wed morning.
Any tips or recommendations for 2 one day trips or a 2 day trip?
With a bit of net surfing the following looks interesting,
Yellow
water cruise
Crocodylus
Park
Aquascene
Thanks in advance Michael
P.S will be hiring a small car for travelling

Hi Michael,
if you have never been to the
Territory Wildlife Park at Berry Springs, it's really worth the visit. You can spend a whole day there easy. Take lunch and drinks with you or eat at the cafe. Make sure you are there
well before 10:00 am so you get a
seat at the "Flight Deck" where they show off birds of prey. It's a really awesome display and you get right up close to the birds; photo ops as
well. Make sure you carry
water with you while walking the
park or take the tractor train between exhibits.
They have a nocturnal house, aquarium, huge rain forest avery etc.
Well worth the time and effort. But do go for the day, ther's lots to see.
After all that, go for a swim at the Berry Springs Reserve just 1K back towards
darwin from the wildlife
park.

The oil tunnel is worth a look. Tea at stokes
hill wharf and feed the fish. Junping croc tour on
Adelaide river
well worth it- not the 2 story glass enclosed boat.you want to do the small open boat (can't remember the name) very personal with the crocs. I have a lot more respect for them now.

Thanks all above for your replies
I made a point of booking in the fishing before the Croc feeding tours because some how if it was the other way around I don't think I could get near
water let alone on it.
Cheers Michael

Hi Michael, im in
Darwin also, drove a road train up from
Melbourne with gear for games. Leaving Monday morning for return trip. If your into car's and trucks etc make a point to visit the
Darwin car clubs shed in Parap, it's in the old Qantas hanger just off the main road out of the city. Has an amazing collection of
tools and equipment etc,
well worth a couple of hours. Even SHMBO was impressed.
cheers jay

Hi jay D,
Yes I'm into cars still have my First car 1969 HT Premier Wagon with a small block chev and turbo 400 restored 8 years ago and resprayed in Cyan Blue.
I would love to keep it for my boys but the eldest is 8 and I am fast running out of room in the garage/yard.
Besides I reckon a new Camry would have more kilowatts than a mildly worked chev!!
Its just to me new cars just don't sound the same.
I will have to look up that car club shed.
Thanks

Hi Michael, give me a call on the mobile 0418555150 if you have any trouble finding it, it's not on any tourist info. I think there is an
orange tyre place on the corner of the Stuart Hwy.
cheers jay

Hi Steve
That 2 day
Kakadu tour looks great.
Will look into this a bit more, I might try and jam a bit more sight seeing on Sun to allow for the last two days at
Kakadu
Cheers Michael
