Jeff I think you have just given the unsavoury type out there an open invitation to you house. They may know your vehicle/van (as its in your profile) or see it and follow you
home and then when your gone they are in. I'd delete this post.
In all seriousness enjoy your trip.

Jeff
I am impressed by your attention to detail. I am sure I could learn something there.
I hope you can relax a bit once you are actually on the road.
Have a great trip.

Thanks Bob
I believe in being prepared so you can imagine my travelling companions consternation when I made them sit through a 3 hour Powerpoint of 230 slides showing all maps, camps and
places of interest along the way lol

G'day Jeff M (WA)
Just got back from similar trip, left
Perth beginning of April and got back on Friday 19/6. Great trip, We went the inland road through Mt. Magnet, Meeka,
Newman and the Karajini National Park and then via Wittenoom to
Millstream and Chichester Ranges through to the Coastal Highway. From
Derby we did the whole
Gibb River Road to
Kununurra. Heading up to
Darwin we spent some time touring
Litchfield National Park, highly recommended, and after leaving
Darwin we did
Kakadu, down to
Pine Creek and on to
Daly Waters, great time, get there early as the Caravan Park fills up early.
From there we travelled down via Alice,
Woomera, Pt
Augusta, Eyre Peninsula,
Ceduna and eventually back to
Perth. The weather from
Tennant Creek to
Perth was cold, wet and windy, but still did not dampen the excitement. In our group were two caravans, off-road, and a Winnebago, non off-road. By travelling according to the road conditions and having the Winnie between us and taking road conditions by
uhf radio,we had no troubles the whole trip other than the Winnie being bogged in the sand on the exit of the Durack River. Simple extraction and we were on our way.
Have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Regards,
Peter (1)
