"Police said she had driven down the East Alligator River Boat Ramp, thinking it was Cahill's Crossing, in Kakadu National Park when the car submerged under water about 9am last Friday"

She must have had a very different map to the one I used, maybe she was (blonde) reading it up-side down??

boat ramp at Cahilles CrossingImage Could Not Be Found

This is "Cahilles Crossing" Image Could Not Be FoundThis side of the river is Kakadu the other side is Arnhem Land.

On Cahilles Crossing you can see the other side of the crossing going into Arnhem Land.
The boat ramp, well it's short, the pic tells the full story :-)

My mother always told me: "Don't attempt a river crossing if you can't see the exit on the other side" :)

From memory the boat ramp is a far way off Cahills crossing by road.

Must have made a few wrong turns on the way, and driven through the boat ramp car park.
