Can anyone advise as to the condition of roads into Salvator Rosa NP Qld approaching from Tambo?? There are two roads, one due west into the NP, and a much longer route via the Dawson Development Rd. I wish to tow a 2 ton off-road van into this NP. Ian

It is over 12months since we drove that track so I do not know if the wet weather has affected it.
We went through with my Prado pulling a single axle Phoenix and had no problems the road gets down to cart track after the Mt Playfair turnoff and there was some corrugation around Mt P but we were not in a hurry.
Great change of scenery all along the track and plenty of room in the park.
Have a good trip.

Bob.

The Mt Playfair road can occasionally have some bull dust patches, so might be a good idea to check with Police in Tambo.

Best bet call the head ranger Alex Whitehead in Springsure he will be able to tell you what the current road conditions through Mt Playfair are. When I was working on the shire up to 9 mths ago out there I had a repair bill of 700k for the Mt Playfair rd and I had only spent 30k when I left. I have since heard that the repairs were canned although I managed to make it trafficable.

Bob, Bruce and Dave,
Thank you for the advice, and I will check those sources before leaving Tambo. Ian (Prado + Trakmaster Kimberley)

We went in there a few weeks ago. The road was fine and they had actually just started upgrading it. They had trucks working tipping loads of material to resurface the black soil areas. They may have completed the work by now.
