Hi

I am travelling from Townsville - Melbourne in December probably through Bourke. What would be a good route to take for camping etc From Bourke into Melbourne and some good "must see" sights along the way.

Thanks

Paul

Hi
Do the darling River run from Burke to pooncarie and Wentworth, then thru to Mildura you can pick up a map at Burke info centre, if you've got time follow the Murray down to Swan Hill or Echuca then down to Melbourne.

Google Darling river run - click on exploreoz link there's a map showing the run

enjoy

This is the best way to go by far tons to see and do give yourself minimum 4 days to drive it or you will miss out on the good stuff. If possible do a side trip into Lake Mungo NP from Pooncarie, this is a must see, as is Kinchiga NP from Menindee.
cheers, Colin.

Forgot to mention, if you are in a hurry then the Kidman Way thru Cobar, Hillston, Goolgowi, Griffith then via Shepperton into Melbourne.
