Hi all,

Been a while since I posted but thought I may share a pic taken on the Harbour. These two boats are Wild Oats XI and Alfa Romeo battling it out for the Solas Big Boat Challenge.

This action is what u can expect to see if you are in Sydney on Boxing Day for the Sydney to Hobart.

Alfa Romeo won :)

Is that that little town that claims they have a big culvert across a bore drain.

Hope they have enough room for little toot and son

We are leaving home (Nanango NW of Brisbane) Saturday for Sydney for Xmas and my reward for spending Xmas with my outlaws is a day on the Harbour. We will be aboard Ocean Dreaming, a 34 meter Cat, for the start of the race and hopefully get to follow the fleet down the coast for awhile.

I went to Nanango once to look for gold....... Very nice place in forest there. I will also be on the harbour but have no idea which boat I will be on? I am sure we will be with the fleet for quite a while too. I will keep my eye out for Ocean Dreaming. I can only presume we will be in one of the few boats traveling directly in front of the fleet

Hi Peter, they do not allow us to drive through the Old Diggings track any more.
Anyway I will be hoping for a nice day so we can get out side the Harbour to sail down the coast with them for awhile, give us a wave if you see the boat LOL

Have enjoyed the spectacle of the start of the Sydney/Hobart sitting up on the cliffs of South head on three occasions.

We will be in Sydney briefly again on the last day of January before boarding our cruise ship for a lap of New Zealand.
Well, we can't always play in the dirt can we:-)

Bill.

I will wait and see them when they get to Hobart lol. A bit far to drive to Sydney to see them off. Saw wild oats and a few others in hobart at the end of the last Sydney to Hobart.
