I have mine mounted in behind the steering column out of sight and the head unit mounted on the centre console. This is in a 100 series not a pajero though

I had to put mine under the drivers seat (Prado) as it wouldn't fit anywhere else. Not happy with it there, but thats the way it is.

Mounted mine up behind the dash, against the firewall.
There were a couple of convenient threaded bolts protruding out and a custom made bracket to screw to these bolts ended up a neat solution.

The remote head bracket was stuck to the centre console with silastic.

Hi Tony
Bite the bullet and get a GME TX3440. You can mount the small main unit anywhere out of the way, - under a seat, under the dash etc with all controls on the microphone. Had the same issue when I upgraded to my Prado from my previous TX4000. The new unit is great and so simple to use.

Cheers

I have an NS Pajero, and my UHF is fitted in the console, under the radio. If you would like a photo, let me know.

I have a detachable head GME unit and the head unit fits in the console, just in front of the cup holders (looks like its for holding pens) and the rest is under the seat.

G`day Tony,

The ash tray in the dash of the old 60 series was only used for nicknaks/ junk so I removed it and it`s slide and the GME TX3800 fitted in nicely all in one piece.

Good luck,

Scrubby.
