Ann Beadell Hwy permits

I would like to know what permits I need to travel the AB Hwy, and what time to allow to organize the permits before leaving?

Why should you need a permit to travel a "Highway" If you need a permit it shouldn't be called a highway.

Hi Peter
The longest time for an approval is around a month from the Maralinga Tjarutja Council, most others are only days. Where ever you look it mentions that you only require 4 separate permits which is wrong, as you actually require five. The one permit that is not mentioned anywhere, even here on EO is a permit from the DIA in Perth to Travel from Neale Junction to Yamarna in the Goldfields Region under Section 31 of the Aboriginal Affairs Planning Act 1972.

Cheers

Stephen

I don't know why they just don't put a toll-gate at Mabel Creek or Lake Yeo and get rid of all this B.S.....

Twice across the AB Hwy and never run into anyone who vaguely looked like asking for a permit....

or call it something useful like a S.A.R fee ....

To be totally honest, and i don't normally condone 'breaking the rules', I don't know why you'd bother with permits for the AB Hwy.... the only habitation between Coober Pedy & Laverton is Ilkulka ... and they aren't interested in permits... the Unnamed NP is Unmanned....

Hi Scott,

I was the bloke who bailed up all the vehicles with exploroz stickers in Laverton, and found you!!!

Hope you made it home safely, I did eventually.

Mick's tyres and rims problems came after I left them. I'm sure he will tell us all about it. The trip with him went well, though I had a few vehicle issues. I'm halfway through a blog on it, will try and finish it soon......
