I have sold my Tvan as I found I was only using it for sleeping in. Why tow your bed around the countryside. I am looking for a IMPI or EEZYSLEPPOD. Can anyone guide me to a dealer in the Sydney area. All I want is to open up and climb into bed. Thanks in advance.

"I have sold my Tvan as I found I was only using it for sleeping in."
Sounds like a practical piece of thinking there Steve.

Steve, The following is from the IMPI website (and I now know what an IMPI is!)

New South Wales

Mannell Motors - 5 Pioneer Avenue Thornleigh NSW 2120
Phone: 02 9980 8855

TJM Hunter Valley - 130 Newcastle Road, Wallsend NSW 2287
Phone: 02 4951 11842

TJM 4WD Megastore - 216 Corrimal Street Wollongong NSW 2500
Phone: 02 4227 4888

Have a look at the Autohome website as well.

Cheers

Mark

Hmmm, my google must be different to yours... I tried googling "impi" and got a whole lot of gobbled-e-gook about everything other than camping.

I will watch with interest to see if anybody posts up a link for an old faart like me to follow.

By Steve's definition that would be no good either!

Then he would carry something around only used for sleeping in Hahaha

Motherhen,
It has been noticed that people have been doing other things in tents and tvans besides sleeping, we are watching and this has to stop.

Have a good one

Guilty as charged ;-)
Maybe he could try http://www.darche.com.au/tents/hybrid.html
Athough small, it could still be possible to do "other things" in it as well, although by the look of the IMPI (read roof top tent in the pics of it), maybe more difficult in the former.

Surely the Impi is still something that must be carried around.

If you are just looking for a sleeping enclosure, it is pretty hard to beat the versatility of a good swag.

A swag can be used "stand-alone" or placed underneath a canvas awning if you also need an undercover cooking facility.

I have to say Steve , that after converting our patrol to having an internal bed a couple of years ago, that the reality of using it has been much better than expected, and well worth the extra trouble of making our camping equipment fit around this senario.

I am slightly cautious of camping on roadside stops, as opposed to bush , but having to do nothing but get in means that you feel much better about it and it opens up more camping potential.

With no external indicators like open roof top tent etc - no one really knows if your camping, gone for a walk - or just having a quick power nap.
