Cb Radio for Pajero

I want to buy my daughter a CB for her pajero but there doesn't seem to be a lot of room in the dash, any suggestion on what type and where to mount it
Thanks Karl

Hi Karl

The GME 3220 is a very small compact unit, which can readily be mounted just about anywhere near the driver (or passenger if you so wish).

It is a good unit, even though very small, and I have one mounted as my second UHF in my car. Generally speaking, all brands of UHF perform the same function, you just need to find whch one would be suitable for mounting in the vehicle.

Cheers

Hi Karl,
I second what Marc said. I have a company car that the company would object to if I were to mount gear in the car.

I run a GME 3800 with a remote mic/speaker that has all the buttons on it. The base unit is cable tied under the passenger seat, powered through a cig lighter plug, and the hand piece makes it way into the centre console via the gap between passenger seat and console.

Out of sight/out of mind reduces the theft factor.

GME make great units. After having Motorola's, Uniden etc, I swear by GME.

Fab.

Karl,
We had a manual NS with a remote head GME mounted on the sloping face of the centre console in front of the cupholders.
We now have an auto GME remote head mounted in the little rectangular recess immediately in front of the cupholders.
Both installations were ok for us.

Karl.
I have a GME 3420 fitted in the NP.
The main unit is behind the lhs kick panel & the remote head is fitted similiar to Jon W.
Works fine.
Cheers.

Karl,

I had an NM Pajero witha GME TX4400 mounted on top of the dash in a fitting made by Dept of the Interior in Sydney. Problem was that the radio caused the compass in the RV thing to go haywire. Not a major problemn as I also had a GPS.

Currently have an NP Pajero with a roof console (again made by Dept of the Interior) with both UHF and HF radios fitted. Works fine.

Dept of the Interior do a very good job but are a little expensive. from memory the dash fitting cost around $300 while the roof console cost about $1200.

Cheers,
Phil

5 Watt Handheld.

That way she can venture away from the Paj with it and still keep in contact.

G'day Karl

I have a 2004 NP and figured I could do without the 6 stacker CD, so that is in the shed and the GME unit is in it's place instead.

Works for me.

Cheers - Phil
