Today we said goodbye to
Longreach passing the 1916 built railway station.

We drove on to make our way to Mt Isa stopping at
Winton the birthplace of Qantas to play on the Musical Fence and see the Ray Hermann world's best saddle bronc rider statue.

We drove through hundreds of kilometres of flat land, which had been flooded and there are
hay runs happening delivering hundreds of really large
hay bails to help the farmers feed there stock. Once we arrived at
Cloncurry we were surrounded by hills.

"Above and Beyond" is the name of a famous
water tower
mural at the local
lookout in
Cloncurry, painted by artist Joel Fergie. The artwork serves as a vibrant visual tribute to the rich cultural history and aviation
heritage. The Mitakoodi Boy: Stands proud, looking out over his ancestral country toward a sacred Wedge-Tailed Eagle (Kurrathilla).The Girl with a Paper Plane: Pays a direct tribute to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), which was originally founded in
Cloncurry back in 1928. Local Wildlife: Features a detailed depiction of the town’s very own signature bird, the
Cloncurry Parrot.
