Edgar Dam campground is immediately near the wall of the
Edgar Dam at the far southern end of Lake Pedder.Facilities at Edgar campground include compost
toilets, rainwater tanks, shelter and wood fired fireplaces, rubbish
bins including recycling station and
boat ramp.The area is flat and
well grassed and visited by quiolls and pademelons.The camps are large open areas that allow good sunlight but still fringed by trees.The area can become muddy after heavy rain and snow. There are 2 good shelters to get away from the weather if
camping in tents. The area offers breathtaking
views of the southern end of Lake Pedder and is adjacent to
Edgar Dam wall, and
boat ramp.No dogs- no drones.
Edgar Dam Campground is outside Southwest National
Park and is managed by Hydro Tasmania. Visitors do not require a valid parks pass.Access from
Gordon Dam Rd is all unsealed but suitable for 2wd vehicles and caravans.
