The Hungerford Gate is a real Border Gate marking the border between NSW and Queensland. The reason for the gate itself is that is an opening in the barrier fence - the Wild Dog/Dingo Barrier Fence. It is a point of interest for travellers keen to mark border points and is situation on the main road into the tiny settlement of Hungerford (population 10).
