The Mount Field Campground is situated inside the National
Park's main entrance, 200 metres from the
Visitor Information Centre. Bookings are not required. The
camp sites are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Payments for
camping can be made at either the campgrounds's self registration booth (cash payments only) or at the
Visitor Centre during operating hours.
Park entry fees apply and can be pre-paid online or at the
Visitor Centre. For after hours arrivals, a pay display kiosk is located at the
Visitor Centre for
park entry card payments.?This pleasant campground is set in the forest beside the pretty Tyenna River - just a few minutes walk from the
Visitor Centre. There are 14 powered sites as
well as a range of unpowered sites. Spaces are suitable for campervans and caravans as
well as tents.Bookings are not taken for campsites and instead it is run on a first-in basis. For the best chance of finding a vacant site it is advised to arrive at the campground by mid-morning as checkout time is 10am. There is no overflow
camping permitted, if the campground is full there are no alternative campgrounds within the National
Park. A privately-run campground is located within five minutes' drive of the
park entrance. Other alternative campsites can be found within the Southwest National
Park and are all a 1.5 hour drive from
Mount Field National Park.
