We are traveling up to Brunswick Heads, via Coonabarabran, Tamworth, Armidale, Dorrigo, Bellingen, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Ballina then Brunswick Heads.
Does anyone know where the best fuel prices are on this route.

Cheers

If you are at all able - fill up before Tamworth, and refill at Uralla or beyond.

Tamworth prices are well above state average, but a Uralla servo buys from the Tamworth depot and can still sell at 10-20c below the Tamworth price from the same brand.

My pick would be Gunnedah, Uralla, Dorrigo - after that, NFI.

Good luck!

Cheapest in Tamworth yesterday was the united servo out near the longyard or the Matilda at Nemingha. Both were around 4-5 cpl cheaper than the main servos.

Depends if you want to specifically go to Coffs Harbour, but 15km north out of Ebor (between Armidale & Dorrigo) it is a good 30min quicker going straight ahead to Grafton than turning right to Dorrigo
The Dorrigo drive is very pretty though.
Make sure you stop and look at Wollomombi and Ebor Falls east of Armidale.
North Coast prices are cheaper than Coona to Armidale

Having driven Adelaide - Sydney - Brisbane and ADL - BNE via numerous routes in the past 6 months or so, I can honestly say it's impossible to know what fuel prices will be where from week to week.
Every town seems to change at a whim, one time it can be cheaper than a few hundred km away, another trip it's the opposite.

I think if someone could come up with a phone app that accurately relays this info in near real time, they'll be a multi millionaire in a very short space of time !!

I'm just glad I have a LRT and an aux tank fitted, can drive to Syd in one hit no probs, direct to Bris, I need to take on 20lt somewhere to be safe.
But then, filling up outside of Bris is cheaper than in the metro suburbs, up to a couple hundred km out I have found it up to 5c a litre less.

Down load the App PetroSpy Members post prices as they fill up or drive by stations. You can search right down to a station and get directions to them. Why not join up to increase the data bank?

Thanks for that, Abqaiq!

Should be able to save a few $$$$ using this app. Have put local prices up already.

Here's Disco's way of budgeting for fuel costs FWIW.

I budget on $2.00 dollars per litre everywhere, most places are well under that so you have money to spare, the few places over $2.00 are accounted for by the extra saved where the fuel is under $2.00/ltr.

Similarly, I budget around $1.50 for every km of travel on my proposed trip, that generally works out so that there is a bit of extra spending cash near the end of the trip to please the "Manager of Home Affairs".

Cheers
