Well we are finally home after about 7500km in 3 1/2 weeks on the road. We left brizzy on the 1st of July and headed to the E.O gathering in south Australia via Birdsville with Trevor and Judy where we meet up with Brian. From here we set out to conquer big red and little red and explore Birdsville. Then it was off down the Birdsville track tacking in all the sights with an over night stay at Clayton, what a place an oasis in the middle of nowhere. From here it was off to warraweena and to meet (as Trevor would say the crow eaters hahaha)It was a great time had by all (with the exception of a few trouble makers......they know who they are hey Roachie and Lucy?????.It was nice to put names to faces. John R and Heather glad to here you got home safely after your mishap and sorry we didn't catch up down on the great ocean road (I think we would have arrived at your house before you two). After 3 days of fun and games and childish pranks to which I refused to have any part in...hahaha,we were off once again on our journey ever deeper south which took us through Brachina gorge(spelling), thanks for the suggested route Judith and Willem it was as beautiful as you said it would be. From Port Augusta we headed through the Clare valley to Adelaide and then on to Mt Gambier to Port Fairy which is a lovely little town. Next it was the Great Ocean Road to Lorne by this time the camera was just about burnt out through to much use, after an overnight stop in Lorne we continued on our way to Queenscliff where we caught the car ferry to Portsea so we missed Melbourne and kept heading to our overnight stay at Phillip Island and visit to see the fairy penguins which Leigh absolutely loved, the only disappointment was you cant take photos. From here we caught up with some friends in Melbourne and up through the Dandenongs and out onto the Hume Highway to Wodonga. Next day we continued to Holbrook and across into Kosiousko National Park through Cabramurra (Highest town in Australia) from here to a couple of nights stay in Jindabyne and some fun in the snow. Off to Canberra and Sydney to catch up with some more outlaws and friends. From Sydney we headed off through the Blue Mountains and on to Dubbo and the Western Plains Zoo for an encounter with the Meerkats and the Lima's. A lost day to some but well worth the stop. Then home via Tamworth. All in all a lot a Kms with many memories and photos (however not to rival Captain Kodak- Brian H)

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Judith and Willem and all others concerned for organising a great weekend. To Brian H and Trevor R and family thank you for your company as you could not ask for nicer people to travel with thanks for the memories.

Regards Ross and Leigh

Is there something I should be offended about....????.....The way you 2 blokes are holding the photo in position with your "rude fingers" (as my boys refer to it)???

You didn't tell me it was one of Lucy's turds.....Damn, now I'll have to throw the whole thing in the bin!!!!!

Well about that toad, the last I saw of him he was hopping down towards Hawker somewhere mumbling something about looking for Roachie and going to hang around down here for a while so you better keep an eye out for him.
King cane toad is still on the road working but you will here from him in the next few days.
Queensland's toad population is decreasing due to lack of food as fewer and fewer people drive Toyota's up here. Nissan's are capable of doing the speed limit and splatter the bugs into nothing where as the toe jams (Toyota) only stun them making easy pickings for the toads.
As for the way we are holding your award Bill don't be offended we greet all southerners that way, its a sign of affection hahaha.

Well! I never.

Ross, Roachie seems to have eaten or drunk something that has affected his vital equilibrium. Sniffing those lovely sump oil fumes before the Garbo collects it I bet.

It doesn't matter what I say, deny or lag on someone else - Roachie has me dead to rights, pinged for the Cane Toad effort so I better fess up and admit it.

Those pics of the winged gull were the icing on his cake so to speak.

Have you had the local "D"s around checking my garbage Otto out, eh? Or would it have been my SWMBO perhaps? hahaha

Either way, that smelly drum of left-over toyota excriment will soon be where it's host (and all it's relatives...ie ALL TOYOTAS) should be...........6' underground at the local landfill.....;-))

G'day there Ross and Leigh,

You certainly would have been here earlier than I was. We really didn't know where we were going to be ultimately.

It took two days to decide if they take the cover off the diff or not, and just replace the diff centre. Then it took another couple of days to find a different part number for the same particular part. Then a few more days to get the part parcelled to get it in the air ship. Three more to start the propellor, and all the weekends in between. What a shocking way to retrieve spare parts from the shelf.

Glad you got home safely anyway and just know you would have enjoyed your tripping, even through the cold of the GOR, just sorry we couldn't show you some of the sights.

Sorry we didn't get a chance to catch up down the GOR but I guess you and Heather had enough on your plate with your car. Glad to here all has been sorted and you made it home safely. We had a great time and spent a few days on the GOR and took enough photo's to give Brian H a run for his money ( well maybe not brian but we took a lot hahaha...) It is a lovely spot but too dam cold.
