Dear All,
We are planning a 20 Day boys trip for August 2011. 2 years ago we did
Cape York and it was fantastic. Travelling in a new DC Hilux, and not yet sure what else!
We are looking for adventure and good Fishing, good scenery and quiet
camping spots. We are quite self sufficient and cant decide exactly where to go.
Thinking about the Gulf region,
Savannah Way - possible
Kakadu or
Broome but they seem a little far in the time we have.
We would like to keep the trip to about 11,000 Klm all up.
can anyone recommend something we may have overlooked??
Cheers
Dave

Not too sure on the fishing options with this suggested itinerary, but here's a few thoughts;
Sydney, Mungo NP,
Menindee,
Wilcannia,
Bourke, via
Louth and
Tilpa (
Darling River run).
Bourke to
Tibooburra, then out to the Corner thru Sturt Nat
Park
North to
Innamincka, then north to
Birdsville, via
Cordillo Downs or
Haddon Corner.
Simpson Crossing and back via
Oodnadatta and then home via
Lyndhurst and to
Broken Hill.
Currently heaps of bird life and lovely scenery. Some of these options however could be compromised as a result of recent rains.
Plenty of iconic stuff.
