I'm looking at that one as well and will be getting one next week. Main reason for choosing the MY75T is its capability to display the AV input from a reversing camera. The cheaper units have no external input.

This is all new territory for me but a 5" screen should be more convenient to mount than the laptop running ozi explorer what I had been using until now.

See if you can find Walkers crossing, My Garmin with OZ Topo on it can't. Garmin Topo can't either.

I have had one over two months now. Has all the popular desert tracks from Hema incorporated into the navigation software. I am quite impressed with this unit as in the many features that are available on it.
Have done a minor report on our forum here Pajero Forum
A more detailed report is in our club mag released early next week.

I have a garmin nuvi 760 and i was supprised at how many of the vic high country 4x4 tracks are on it.I have also added extra maps to it via the memory card slot on the side.Alot of the gps don't have this facility. The Hema navigator looks to be thebest around but it is about twice the price of a garmin. There are god deals on the garmin if you are willing to get one that is one model out of date.

I bought the MY50T a year ago. Unless you're driving in Sydney, it's terrible!

The CPU is too slow for a start. Playing ANY sound, even the turn announcements, completely locks up the entire unit until the sounds stops playing. That's how underpowered it is.

I have had the mainboard repalced once because the battery failed to hold charge, and only 3 months laterm it looks like it's on the way out again. Went from 54% to 18% in 2 minutes in walking mode.

It's terrible for regional streets, but have to admit, for NSW State Forest tracks it hasn't let me down completely yet. But it does get VERY VERY confused, and has taken me around 3 laps to get out of Green Hills SF a while back.

Brisbane is terrible. The turn announcements are approx 10m AFTER you have passed the turn. It's like the whole GPS is 200m behind where you actually are.Melbourne & Adelaide are not great either.

I installed iGo8 on a mate's ALDI goCruise unit, and it's better at everything. Found streets in Yass the Navman couldn't, has smart street input, better announcements, and user interface. But the display is a bit cluttered.

I set my Navman side by side with a TomTom unit in Sydney and the TomTom announced turns clearer & earlier than the Navman did. Little things like "Turn right, then get in the left lane to turn left in 100m" were a god send from the TomTom where my Navman simplay said "Turn right, ........Turn left".

And finally, I find the removal of an "ignition" sense, that automatically turns off the GPS when the external power is removed, (like all the S series did!!!) a real backward step.

Likewise is the ability to DISPLAY the GPS Co-Ordinates of where you currently are. I mean, what GPS device couldn't do that natively? The MY50 you have to DOWNLOAD a Saved Point to NavDesk software, THEN transport that to Google maps and read the Co-Ords from there. Sorry, but I don't carry a laptop and google maps in my pocket, and shouldn't have to. It's such a ridiculous thing to remove from the software of a GPS unit!

It does sound like the MY75T has fixed a lot of the problems the MY5x series had. But considering the MY50T was $400 when I bought mine, and they can now be found for close to half that ($235 @ Dick Smith) only 1 year later, AND they now throw in free maps for 3 years to shift them as well, I'm thinking I bought a lemon. I'll wait another 6 months and see if the price on the MY75T crashes like my MY50 did. That might be a good indicator if they turn out to be a lemon as well? I'll certainly be looking at a TomTom or Garmin next time. But it does sound like people are happy with the new Navmans??

I must have a different model MY75T. I bought my new Navman in Brisbane on a recent trip after my old Sat Nav went to God. In my opinion I thought it worked great in Brisbane and all the way back to here in Melbourne. We came back via Cunamulla, Bourke, Griffith. I was accurate all the way. I do around 800klms a week in Melbourne here and use the MY75T extensively and find it very good. I was impressed with how accurate the speed changes happen on the MY75T as one passes the change of speed signs on the side of the road. I may be easy to please but I love the MY75T.

Hi John / Lil,

My comments are in relation to the previous model, the MY50T/MY55T.

But you have reminded me of ANOTHER issue with it. It warns me about speed changes alright....yeah,...GOING THE WRONG WAY!

If I am leaving a 60Kph zone and entering a 100Kph zone, when I get to the 100Kph sign, it warns me when I hit it that there is a speed change _TO_ _60kph_ and then counts _UP_ in meters as I drive away from the sign.

Exactly the OPPOSITE of what it should do.

And if I am driving the OTHER way, from the 100Kph into the 60Kph zone, it doesn't warn me _AT_ALL_.

This feature is simply plain broken on my model, even with the latest firmware update that now includes for free the adaptable speed warning system the MY55T came with. Glad I didn't spend the extra $80 on that feature, cause now all MY50T users get it for free in the latest update anyway. I'd be royally bleep ed if I bought an MY55T to get this feature and paid the extra.

I purchased a My75T yesterday because it is supposed to have detailed 4WD maps.

All I can see when i access a 4wd map is basically a white screen with a stick for the road. ie. Mount Dare Homestead

Am I expecting too much or doing something wrong?

To me a detailed 4Wd map should show creekss, contours etc.

The reason I am saying this is because I purchased the My75T to replace my old Ipac 3780 connected to a Garmi GPIII

This was running Ozi Explorer
I could see a detailed Hema Desert Map a detailed Hema Cape York Map. But on my new Navman My75T I cannot.

I have rung tech support, I have rung Sales.

They tell me that is as far as I should expect a stick map.

I even asked if Hema 4WD maps were actually installed on my unit because when I go to settings and maps all I have listed is Australia, no mention of Hema..

So there you go totally confused or actually been misled by advertising detailed 4WD Maps.

I would be interested in hearing other owners experiences.

Cheers Eric

Solved my problem.
I returned the unit and got a full refund.
The Navman My75T does not have detailed Hema desert maps or any detailed 4Wd topo maps for that matter.
What it claims to have is detailed 4WD tracks by Hema.

I find this to be very misleading, as i don't appear to be the only one expecting detailed Hema 4WD maps.

What this means is that if you are in the middle of nowhere you will be able to see yourself travelling along a wriggly black line, with the rest of the screen devoid of any detail.
The detail as far as Navman are concerned is for example a Point of interest ie. A green tent that depicts a campground.

So its back to the drawing board? Time to save the pennies for a Hema Navigator which has the same detail as my old Ipac running Ozi Explorer and maps such as the Cape York and Desert Maps.
