Way too crowded out there at Easter for my liking and a lot of the popular places are booked solid anyway, so for me my own shed is looking good.
Yes I'm an anti-social old bustard.

Am I allowed to say the "b" word????

Of course you can. Bastard is a child born out of wedlock. And we sure have a lot of old bastards around these days. So why cant you? You may be one as you most definitely say that you are. And you are not about to start lying are you!.

Camped next to a billabong & flowing creek on a private property with 10 other vehicles in the Flinders Ranges.

Enjoying tracks that lead in to the pound & I believe some very high summits with great views.

Gods own country.

We are driving home from Murgon to Scone then down to Sydney for ANZAC day, then of to Griffith for 6 weeks.

Wouldn't want to be in a coastal caravan park over Easter, a bit too crowded for us.

Would you by any chance be going on a "Scenic Tours" trip to Canada?
I have a good mate flying over on Good Friday" for a 3 week trip.
I am in Bathurst.

No

We are doing our own thing. Hired a car and drive ourselves so we can stop where we want and not be driven from one shop to another shop. Road and rail travel the same valleys so expect the same views as tours. LOL

You will really enjoy Canada. I had a White Christmas over there in December 2009. We went with Scenic Tours and it was fantastic.
You will enjoy the driving as it is a beautiful country.
Cheers

Echuca for 2 weeks. Am working here but will get 3 or 4 days off to fish. I know Echuca is crowded for easter but that works well for me for work and I will fish were the others don't.
By the way Happy Easter

It would be unlikely to be crowded where we are going "out there".
Camping along the Cooper Creek somewhere off the Birdsville Track.

Kalaru, southern NSW. Tried to get into Mallacoota but was booked out. It's our first stop out of Victoria on our round Australia trip.

It's our second day out of Geelong, we're currently at Warburton CP in the Yarra Ranges, staying for a week. I've just had a look at the BOM site. Severe weather and flash flood warnings for the area.

I've just put the hitch back on and backed up. Just in case.

Dubbo for some Quad and Motor bike riding with the kids, not taking Camper this year but a Car trailer chocker block with Bikes and tent gear.
The kids love the easter egg hunt in the bush.
friends private property so no crowds only two other families from Sydney and his Family always good to catch up with them and get out of the City.

Cheers Michael

We're off to Adelaide at the beach RV park to spend quality time with the grand kids. Been doing this for four years now. Great fun, with them learning the old fashioned things like board games in the van and a walk on the beach, even if it's raining!

It will not be long I fear and they will be at that age when they will be looking to do their own thing and not hang out with Nanna and Grandpa.

I say, make the most of the experience while you can.

Cheers

Staying home and if the weather is right jumping into my boat and out fishing. Boat ramp is 10 mins away and the fish are biting a further 10 mins away.

Now all I have to do is hope the weather is kind.

Off for a quick look at Lake Eyre. Not the kind of trip I would normally do. But you go when you can when some people can not get time off work for a longer trip.

Leave Friday AM before the sparrow even wakes. Stop at Renmark for Friday night and then to Marree for Saturday night. Sunday helicopter ride over Lake Eyre, landing where we can. Then down to Parachilna for a good Sunday evening feast and a few beers at the Prarie Hotel. Monday; start a slower drive home through the Flinders to survey it for a return trip when we have more time.

Home by Wednesday evening at the latest. Three of the days will entail at least 10 hours behind the wheel each. Luckily we have two drivers. A bit like the old days of Sydney to Brisbane non stop.

Phew.

First stop, Wineglass Bay on the Freyicent Peninsular for a couple of days then
down to Bruny Island,Cloudy Bay on the East Coast of Tassie. The weather is going to be less than ideal and we are heading there end of the week so chances are we'll beat any crowds and score good camp spots !
