Hi all.

I'm looking for a bush/beach/river camping spot, possibly with toilet facilities, that is reasonably close to Albury.

There will be half a dozen or so camper trailers/caravans coming from Sydney, Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula and we want to meet in the middle somewhere.

We would love somewhere to set up our fire drums and sit back and laugh til all hours.

Dog friendly a plus, but not necessary.

Can't wait to hear what you all think!

Cheers
Jude

Image Could Not Be Found Image Could Not Be Found G'day Jude, the best all round spot is at Jingellic, on the river, free camp, dog friendly, close to a great bush pub, pay showers, clean toilets, fires ok also elec. bbq's if needed, mostly very few people! (try to keep this place a secret!) great for pushbike riding, swimming, fishing, walking - but best of aaaalll a great place to do nothing!!!.........hoo roo

2nd Jingellic,

Friends owned the pub there for a while and wed go there camping and fishing every Easter (along with a couple hundred bikies but they were harmless most of the time)

Cheers Wilko

If you want to be closer in to Albury try the Police Paddocks near Rutherglen. It is bush camping though.

Thanks whisky_mac. I thought about that spot, however, with a 2 and 7 year old I am hoping to find somewhere with toilet facilities. We don't have a portaloo yet!
Cheers

That looks like a great spot. Is it at Jingellic Reserve close to the pub? Sounds like we couldn't ask for a better place!! :D
Thanks everyone.

Yes. About the furthest you can get from the pub is 150m. Good meals too...oldbaz.

Gooday Jude, Gadds Reserve near Mt Alfred, Burrowye Reserve near the River Road/Burrowye Rd intersection and the Walwa Caravan park are also worth a look although I hear the mud brick ablutions block at the Walwa Caravan Park suffered a bit in a recent flood.
There's quite a few places downstream of Albury Wodonga but they take a bit of a hammering. The Ovens River just short of its junction with the Murray (a few km upstream from Bundalong) is one of the nicer spots downstream of Alb/Wod

Cheers, Gary M.
