Tambo is worth at least 1 day. Not that much in the town apart from the
Tambo Teddies. You can pick up a map and take a walk around the town picking up the sights. Salvator Rosa is a good run from
Tambo but we found some heavy bulldust along on the track so just keep your eye our for it. There are a few points of interest at Salvatore Rosa but they are all along the same track and can all be visited quite easily in one day. It's a nice
camping area with plenty of fresh
water. It would be easy to spend a few days there if you just want to chill out. Not much at
Jundah.
Longreach,
Emerald and
Carnarvon Gorge all worth spending plenty of time at. Good easy trip, we towed a campervan all the way around without any hassles
Enjoy yourself
Peter

Brian, I live in
Emerald and have travelled to Salvator rosa twice and quite enjoyed it It can be easilly accessed from the tambo/
Springsure road. There is a shallow fresh
water creek runing through the
camping area(which is usually deserted),no facilities, only a pit
toilet. There is not a lot of driving to do in the
park itself but you can walk for
miles following the
creek. You can drive across the
creek and travel into the
park a bit further. It is really only worth a day trip so plan to spend more time at
carnarvon gorge,
Emerald and
longreach. If you would like to know anything else about
Emerald,
longreach etc let me know and i will try to fill you in, You should also consider the
gemfields near
Emerald as
well. I have live here for 15 years so know the area fairly
well.
