Lost Panasonic Lumix camera in a brown leather case

On December 28th, while travelling through the South Easts Forests near Bombala, we stopped at the Myanba Gorge picnic area. We completed the walk & it was so hot when we finished I took the camera off & put it on the tank stand & wet my head & face - this was around midday. We then took off for Orbost. At Orbost I realised I could not find my camera!
We drove back to the gorge but no camera. Left notes & spoke to people camped at the Waratah Gully camp ground but no one had seen it.
I have rung the National Parks offices, general stores, tourist information centres & police in Bombala & Wyndham with no luck.
This was a relatively new camera & has the only photos (not too good!) of a close friends' 60th birthday & family photos on it. I had not got round to putting my name on it as we have done renovations & I couldn't find the engraving tool or the name tag maker!! Poor excuse, I could have used a texta!
I am appealing to anyone who may have been in this area on the 28th & have anything of use to me in tracking this camera down.
I would also suggest that if anyone finds something left in a remote area they leave a contact note in case the owner comes back.
