For most walkers journeying through the Walls of Jerusalem National
Park, Wild Dog
Creek campsite, perched at the base of King Davids Peak, will be your first
camp.
Walls of Jerusalem
Trailhead (Fish River
CarPark) to Wild Dog
Creek – 6.5km, 2-3 hours walk.
The
campsite has tent platforms raised up above the ground to protect the fragile vegetation below, and there’s a self-composting
toilet about 50 metres further up. There is also
water here (boil before use). This a place to relax and enjoy the spectacle of sunset over the lumpy peaks of Howells
Bluff and Clumner
Bluff to the west talking in
Cradle Mountain National
Park.
This
campsite provides wonderful sunset opportunities. The site can accommodate 19 double-person tents on raised platforms set amongst the alpine vegetation. The platforms vary in size and are spread over three levels, connected by a series of boardwalks and stone walkways.
