This is the most primitive of the three main
park campsites. It includes a composting
toilet and a small rainwater
tank, but does not have the hardened platforms or cooking benches found at the northern sites.
Lake Adelaide campsite is situated 350m north of the
Lake Adelaide nestled in the tree line providing shelter from elements. This site provides suitable grassed areas with small shrubs and vegetation providing some privacy.
A short walk to
Lake Adelaide (one of the largest lakes in the Walls of Jerusalem National
Park) provides magnificent
views and a suitable swimming option during the warmer months.
This area is a hotspot for Spotted-tail Quolls and possums. Keeping a clean
camp and storing food in "quoll-proof" bags or containers is essential here.
