The app performance can be compromised if your device has insufficient storage or RAM. Try clearing up free space on your device by deleting photos/videos and unnecessary apps. Also run any clean up tools that your operating system offers.

On Android phones, the map screen can take a while to "wake up" if you've left the app running whilst using other apps/programs and then flick back to use the app again - but just be patient if it is unresponsive, as it will generally sort itself out withing 1-2 minutes.
